This quickstart is for the browser version of ChatGPT. It does not use a CLI, desktop configuration, or a local stdio server.
ChatGPT Developer mode is available on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education accounts. Workspace administrators may need to allow custom apps before members can connect one.
Connect GoodMetrics
Section titled “Connect GoodMetrics”-
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings.

Turn on Developer mode.

Return to Settings → Apps and choose Create app beside Advanced settings.

Enter GoodMetrics as the app name.

Enter the following remote MCP server URL:
https://data.goodmetrics.io/mcp -
Select OAuth authentication if ChatGPT asks for an authentication method. Do not add an API key, authorization URL, OAuth client ID, or OAuth client secret.

Create the app, then choose Connect or Authorize when prompted.

Sign in to GoodMetrics, review the read-only
analytics:readpermission, and choose Allow Access.
GoodMetrics uses OAuth discovery and dynamic client registration, so ChatGPT can configure authorization automatically.
Enable it in a conversation
Section titled “Enable it in a conversation”-
Start a new conversation.

Open the + menu and choose Developer mode.

Select the GoodMetrics app for the conversation.

Ask:
List the GoodMetrics sites I can access.
After ChatGPT returns your sites, try:
Show the current active visitors for example.com.Replace example.com with one of your connected domains. See Example Prompts for more ideas.
If Create app is missing, confirm that Developer mode is enabled and that your plan or workspace administrator allows custom MCP apps.
